The Lincoln Continental is an American passenger car of the upper middle and luxury class, the first copy of which was presented to the public in 1939! Its serial production started in the same year and lasted in 1939-1942, 1946-1948, 1958-1980, 1982-2002 and from 2017 to the present day. The car was and is driven - depending on the version - by a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines. Production has been concentrated and is still largely concentrated in the United States.
Lincoln Continental is produced by the Lincoln company, which is part of the Ford Motor Company concern. Initially, the Continental model was created for the use of Edsel Ford - the owner of the concern, but it quickly entered mass production as a luxury car. He has not lost this character until now. During production, a total of ten generations of this car were made. One of the better known models are those from 1946-1948 from the 1st generation. They were powered by a 12-cylinder Lincoln Zephyr engine with a capacity of 4.8 liters and offered high travel comfort. They are also considered to be one of the more classic American cars of the 1940s. The current, 10th generation of this model was presented as the so-called Concept-car at the 2015 New York Motor Show. It is powered by engines ranging from 2.7 to 3.7 liters and from 305 to 400 hp.
