The BM-31-12 Katyusha is a Soviet self-propelled 300 mm unguided missile launcher from the Second World War. The maximum range when firing shells with a high-explosive warhead reached 4-4.3 kilometers. The length of a single projectile was 1.7 meters, and its weight ranged from 91.5 to 94.8 kilograms. The BM-31-12 Katyusha was an evolutionary development of the famous BM-13 Katyusha. Compared to its predecessor, it had a greater caliber, bullet weight and range. It is also worth noting that the BM-31 was primarily mounted on trucks, and Studebaker delivered in significant quantities from the United States under the Lend and Lease program. This car was characterized by high mechanical efficiency, it did well in the field, and above all it had a relatively large load capacity. Launchers of this type entered service for the first time in 1944. They were used on a mass scale, among others, during the Berlin operation in April-May 1945. They were used on a small scale in the Polish People's Army.
