The London Eye (also known as the Millenium Wheel) is an observation wheel or Ferris wheel that began in 1998 and was completed a year later. The total height of the building is 135 meters! The London Eye - as the name suggests - is located in London in the Lambeth district. Interestingly, it was constructed in such a way that thanks to the low speed of the cabins, tourists can get in and out of them even without stopping. It is worth noting that the London Eye is one of the three buildings erected in London on the occasion of the new millennium, and it was opened by Prime Minister Tony Blair on December 31, 1999. At present, it is the largest building of this type on the European continent and one of the greatest tourist attractions in London, visited by approximately 3.7 million people annually! The London Eye was built around £ 70 million and is currently operated and maintained by Merlin Entertainments.
