Bronco GB7005 Blohm & Voss BV P178 NachtJäger

The Blohm und Voss P.178 was a WWII German turbojet dive bomber project. Probably the propulsion was to be provided by a single Junkers Jumo 004B turbojet engine. The deck armament was to consist of two 15mm MG151 machine guns. The plane was also supposed to carry a load of bombs weighing up to 1,000 kilograms. The machine has never been tested, much less entered mass production.

The design of the Blohm und Voss P.178 aircraft was created as an attempt to create a successor to the Junkers Ju-87 Stukas aircraft. The new machine was an avant-garde design that had a single jet engine in a separate nacelle under the right wing. This solution was to facilitate the operation of the engine by the ground crew, as well as - at least theoretically - to provide better properties of the machine in a diving flight. The fuselage, on the other hand, was highly aerodynamically refined. However, the project was never implemented and the P.178 was not flown.
