Planet Models 024 Blohm & Voss P.211

Blohm und Voss P.211 was a project of a German high-wing jet fighter from the Second World War. The drive was to be provided by a single engine BMW 003A-1. The on-board armament was to consist of two Mk. 108 cal. 30 mm. The machine has never been tested or entered into serial production.

At the end of World War II, German aviation factories, including the Blohm und Voss plants, developed many jet and rocket fighter designs. One of them was the P.211, which was created as part of the program Volksjäger (German folk fighter) from 1944. The Blohm und Voss P.211 was to be a machine much smaller than the Me-262, to be as cheap and easy to produce as possible, and most of all to use as few scarce raw materials as possible - especially duralumin. At the same time, however, it was to be characterized by good performance, especially the maximum speed, which was to be at least 750 km / h. The Blohm und Voss P.211 project was completed in a record time, and what is even more interesting - it met many of the requirements set by the Luftwaffe! However, he finally lost the fight with the Heinkel He 162 Salamander. The P.211 airplane never got beyond the design stage.
