The Alert is a modern British civilian intervention vessel, the keel of which was laid in May 2005 and launched in November of the same year. The vessel was handed over to the shipowner shortly after. The length of the vessel is approximately 39 m with a width of 8 meters. The drive is provided by two engines, each with a power of 4078 HP. The maximum speed is not more than 17 knots. However, the crew of the unit consists of 10 people. Alert was designed and built at the Polish Northern Shipyard, which belongs to the Remontowa Shipbuilding SA holding, on the order of the British company Trinity House Lighthouse Service. The main task of the unit is to help civilian ships that have suffered a sea catastrophe and to save shipwrecked people in all weather conditions, during the day and at night. The rich electronic equipment also allows to successfully carry out activities related to the marking of wrecks or all types of navigation obstacles. The ship can also carry out both surface and underwater tasks.
