The Cylons are a humanoid race of robots that appears in the universe of the science fiction series "Battlestar: Galactica". The Cylons first appeared in the series in 1978 as a race against humanity with typical metal torsos. However, in the series, the first season of which was presented in 2004, the Cylons are human creations, destined for simple physical work. However, these robots revolted and began a war with humans that ended in a truce, after which the Cylons left Earth. In the course of their journey, they evolved very quickly, and about 40 years after the truce, they again started a war with people. Interestingly, the Cylons motivate their actions with religious reasons. The basic component of the Cylon ground forces is a robot called the Centurion (Cylon Centurion), which is fully armored, moves on two limbs, and is characterized by very high mechanical efficiency and considerable firepower. The Cylon Centurion is able to carry various types of weapons such as rocket launchers and mortars.
