Choroszy Modelbud E03 Curtiss F-5l

Felixstowe / Curtiss F5L was a British flying boat from the interwar period. The machine was built in a biplane arrangement. The prototype flight took place in 1918. Serial production started in the same year. Approximately 230 aircraft of this type were built, along with prototypes. The drive - in the Curtiss F5L version - was provided by two motors Liberty L-12-A with 400 HP each. The on-board armament consisted of 2 machine guns.

The Felixstowe F5L was developed by John Cyrill Porte based on the American Curtiss H-12 aircraft and the Felixstowe F5 structure. The changes compared to the predecessors mainly concerned the strengthening of the fuselage and wings, better fuselage profile and other minor adjustments. Then the machine was transferred to the USA, where it was put into production under the designation Curtiss F5L (military version) and Aeromarine 75 (civilian version). The military version turned out to be such a successful machine that it remained the main US Navy patrol aircraft until 1928, when it was replaced by the PN-12.
