Hobby Boss 80312 FJ-4 FURY

The North American FJ-4 Fury was an American jet-powered in-flight fighter from the Cold War period. The prototype flight took place in 1954. The machine was introduced to the US Navy shortly afterwards to be withdrawn from it in the late 1960s. In total, about 370 examples of this aircraft were built. The drive was provided by a single engine Wright J65-W-16A turbojet . The plane reached the maximum speed of 1090 km / h, and the maximum range was up to 3200 kilometers. The on-board armament consisted of four 20 mm cannons.

The North American FJ-4 Fury was developed as a very far-reaching development of the FJ-2 / FJ-3 aircraft. It borrowed the overall concept and design from them, but had a completely redesigned wing shape, a revised tail and a slightly different fuselage shape. It also featured improved performance. In the course of serial production, two main variants of this machine were created: FJ-4 (basic version, fighter version) and FJ-4B (assault version). The only user of the FJ-4 was the US Navy and the US Marine Corps.
