The PstK / 36 gun is a Finnish 37mm towed anti-tank gun from the interwar period and World War II. The own weight of the gun was approx. 370 kilograms, with a length of approx. 3.1 meters including the barrel. The maximum range of the weapon was up to 6,500 meters, while the maximum range of the effective shot did not exceed 4,000 meters. The rate of fire of the weapon, with a well-trained crew, was up to 12 rounds per minute.
The PstK / 36 is essentially the Finnish name of the Swedish 37mm Bofors anti-tank gun. The Finnish armed forces, noticing the high quality of the weapons produced by their western neighbor, as well as fearing the growing threat from the USSR, purchased around 120 copies of these weapons in the years 1938-1939. In 1940-1941, on the other hand, about 40 captured cannons of this type were obtained from Germany. In 1939-1941, license production was also carried out at the Tampella and VTT plants, which led to the creation of approx. 350 PstK / 36 guns. Cannons of this type took part in the Winter War (1939-1940) and the so-called the continuation war (1941-1944). They remained in the Finnish army until 1986!
