Planet Models 041 Focke-Wulf FwA 16

The Focke-Wulf A-16 was a German interwar airliner with an all-wooden structure with a fixed landing gear. The drive was provided by a single engine Siemens-Halske Sh 11 with 75 HP. The flight of the prototype took place in June 1924, and in the years 1924-1927 serial production continued, which resulted in the production of about 20 aircraft of this type.

The A-16 was the first mass-produced aircraft at the Focke-Wulf manufacturing plant, which was founded by Heinrich Focke and Georg Wulf in 1923. The new plane was a light passenger machine made entirely of wood that could take up to 3-4 people on board. Interestingly, the pilot's open cockpit was located above the passenger compartment, thanks to which the pilot had good flight visibility, but not the best when taking off and landing. The aircraft was made in a high wing configuration with a classic tail. One of the main users of these aircraft was Lufthansa.
