The Ford Falcon is an American mid-range passenger car that debuted on the market at the end of 1959, a its production continued until 1970. In its course, the car was manufactured at plants in cities such as Edison, New Jersey, San Jose, California, and Claycomo, Missouri. In the chronologically earliest generation the car was 459.7 cm long, 178 cm wide, with a wheelbase of 278.1 cm. The presented vehicle was introduced to the North American market after the Ford plants carried out a thorough market research and the needs of potential inlets in the late 1950s. They clearly showed that there is a demand for a car that is smaller than the previously produced full-size cars, in favor of a car that is smaller, cheaper in operation and most often intended for use by women (which was a novelty on the American automotive market at that time!). All this resulted in the introduction of the Falcon model, which turned out to be a considerable market success. As a curiosity, it can be noted that the indirect supervision over the design work and implementation of the Falcon model on the market was exercised by Robert McNamara - the then General Manager of Ford, and later (from 1961) the US Secretary of Defense. In the course of production, three generations of the Ford Falcon were made, which debuted on the market in 1959, 1963 and 1965. In the case of the second generation, produced in 1963-1965, engines with a capacity of 2.4 to 4.7 liters were used as power units , and the car was available in several body versions, as: sedan, station wagon, coupe or convertible. It is worth adding that the legendary Ford Mustang launched on the market was based on many mechanical components of the second generation of the Falcon model.
