The Chrysler Building is an American skyscraper, "skyscraper", which is located in the city of New York in the borough of Midtown Manhattan. Work on this building started in 1928, and two years later - in 1930 - its official opening took place. Currently, the total height of the Chrysler Building is 318.9 meters, and the height to the roof is 282 meters. The building has 77 storeys. The design of this unusual skyscraper was developed by a New York architect William van Alen, who designed it in the Art Deco style, thus creating one of the most beautiful skyscrapers in New York. It is worth adding that at the time of putting into use The Chrysler Building was not only recognized as a gem of modern architecture in New York, it was also the tallest building in the world! As the name suggests - the building was commissioned by the automotive company Chrysler. Currently it belongs to TMW Real Estate and Tishman Speyer Properties. The building, to this day, is one of the architectural landmarks of New York.
