Sears Tower (from 2009 Willis Tower) is a modern skyscraper located in the United States, and more precisely in the city of Chicago, 108-story high, which rises 442.3 meters above the ground. Thus, it is the tallest building in North America - counting to the roof line. It is worth adding that the total height of the building, including the mast, is 527.3 meters. Construction of the Sears Tower began in 1970 and was completed three years later - in 1973. The main designers of the building were Bruce Graham and Fazlur Khan. The skyscraper is characterized by an unusual and, in fact, unique architecture, based on a skeleton composed of nine "pipes" with a square cross-section. At the time of completion, the Sears Tower was the tallest building in the world, counting to the roof line. Until 2013, it was also the tallest building in the USA. Currently, Willis Tower is the tallest building in Chicago and the second tallest building in the USA.
