The Taj Mahal (or Taj Mahal) is an Indian mausoleum that was built in the 17th century in the city of Agra on the Indus River. The building is also called the temple of love because it was built by order of the Mughal Dynasty Shah Jahan (known as Churram) in honor of Mumtaz Mahal, who died at the age of 38. The construction took 22 years and lasted from 1632 to 1654. According to various estimates, about 20-25 thousand people participated in its construction. workers. Interestingly, it is possible that maybe two European architects worked on the construction. The building was built of marble, and the rich decorations contain precious stones[sic!] , semi-precious stones and calligraphic elements made of black marble. It is worth adding that in the 19th century there were ideas to dismantle this amazing building and sell the marble obtained in this way, but fortunately they were not implemented. Finally, on the initiative of the British viceroy of India, Lord Curzon, the renovation and partial reconstruction of this monument of Indian architecture was undertaken. Today, the Taj Mahal is considered to be one of the finest and finest examples of Indian architecture in the Mughal era.
