The Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Jaszczurówka is a Roman Catholic chapel, which is now a subsidiary church of the parish in Toporowa Cyrhla in Zakopane. Construction began in 1904 and the building was consecrated three years later (1907). The building was designed by Stanisław Witkiewicz, known as Witkacy, in the so-called Zakopane style, of which he himself was the creator. This style was a specific combination of the traditional architecture of Podhale and Art Nouveau. The chapel in Jaszczurówka was built on a solid, stone foundation, it has a log structure, and Witkacy placed a small tower with a bell on the roof. It is worth adding that for many years this architecturally interesting chapel did not have a permanent administrative and pastoral guardian. It is possible that the Krakow diocese was reluctant to look after the chapel because of the person of its creator. This state of affairs did not change until the end of the 20th century. It is worth adding that the formal owner of the chapel in Jaszczurówka is the Tatra National Park.
