The Jaguar XJR-8 is a British racing car that was first introduced to the public in 1987 and was only raced in the 1987 season. the so-called Group C. A total of six cars of this type were built.
The Jaguar XJR-8 was developed by Thomas Walkinshaw and Tony Southgate based on the Jaguar XJR-6. Compared to its predecessor, it differed only marginally on the outside, but it was powered by an upgraded Jaguar V12 engine, the capacity of which was increased to 7.2 liters, and the maximum power - to 720 hp. Thanks to this power unit, the top speed has increased to 354 km / h, and the performance - especially acceleration - has also improved. In total, Jaguar XJR-8 took part in 10 races from the World Sportscar Championship series in 1987, winning as many as 8 of them, winning the competition with Porsche and Mercedes-Benz cars.
