The Kawasaki KV 107 is a Japanese tandem transport helicopter with a triple support, retractable in-flight landing gear. The machine entered service in 1967. In the basic version, the machine is 25.7 m long, with a fuselage width of 2.2 m and a rotor diameter of 15.2 m. The KV 107 helicopter is a license version of the American Boeing CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter, which was produced by Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The helicopters produced in Japan differed from their American counterparts primarily in terms of electronic equipment, and from a certain point also in propulsion units and small construction details. Many versions of the Kawasaki KV 107 helicopter were produced in the course of production, including: KV 107 II-2 (civilian passenger version), KV 107 II-3 (naval military version), KV 107 II-5 (search and rescue version, produced also for Sweden). In total, 140 helicopters of this type of all versions were built in Japan.
