The Kamow Ka-15 (in NATO code: Hen) was a light, multi-role, metal-structure Soviet-made helicopter with a fixed, four-support landing gear in a very rare coaxial twin-rotor system. The drive was provided by a single star Ivchenko AI-14 V with a power of 255 HP. The flight of the first prototype took place in 1952, and the machine was introduced to the line in 1955. Serial production was undertaken by the Aviation Works in Ulan-Ude. It is estimated that no more than 400 machines of this type were built. All Ka-18 helicopters were withdrawn from the line in the early 1970s. The Kamow Ka-15 was produced in two versions. The first (Ka-15) was used by the Soviet Navy to patrol coastal waters. Then the civilian version (Ka-15M) was developed, which could take a pilot and one passenger or 250 kg. cargo. It was used primarily for patrolling forests, helping fishing boats, or it was also used in agriculture.
