BR 41 (another designation: DRG 41 or DRB 41) is a series of steam locomotives (steam locomotives) that were produced in the period 1937-1941 by many German companies, including: Krupp, Kraus-Maffei or Borsig. In total, 366 locomotives of this type were built. The length of a single locomotive (without tender) was 23.91 meters, and the service weight - 101.9 tons. The locomotive in Whyte notation had a 2-8-2 layout.

The BR 41 steam locomotives were commissioned by the German DRG railway line (German: Deutesche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft) as the so-called Einheitslokomotive. The future operator strived to obtain as cheap as possible to operate, but fast and reliable locomotive dedicated mainly to freight. The first test specimens appeared on German tracks in 1937 and were manufactured by the Berliner Maschinenbau plant. A year later, mass production started in many German companies. The BR 41 steam locomotives turned out to be successful constructions, providing sufficient power to move even large trains, as well as relatively low-failure ones. They were intensively used during World War II, and after modernization, they were still in service after 1945.
