The Morane-Saulnier WR was a French back-wing sports plane from the early 20th century. The prototype flight took place in 1913. The machine did not have a permanent on-board armament. The Morane-Saulnier WR was created as a development of a very successful aircraft from the same aviation manufacturer - the H model, which in turn was designed in 1912 and flown a year later. The machine became famous when Roland Garros flew it over the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. The WR model differed from its predecessor mainly in the use of a fixed-float undercarriage, as well as had a different drive unit than the H model. It can be assumed that its structure was also strengthened compared to the predecessor. The Morane-Saulnier WR was also designed to compete in the first ever Schneider Trophy Race.
