Lockheed Ventura is an American, twin-engine, low-wing medium bomber from the Second World War. Like the A-28/29 Hudson, the Ventura was commissioned by the British as a modification of the 1939 Lodestar L18 communication aircraft. In production from 1941 to 1945 - as the Ventura Mk IV (export designation), B-34 / B-37 Lexington (for USAAF) and PV-1 Ventura and PV-2 Harpoon (for US Navy). Mainly used in the Pacific and Indian Oceans - in American, Australian, New Zealand and South African aviation. Of the 2998 produced copies, the patrol version of the PV-1 Ventura Mk V from 1943 counted over the field.
