Pu29 is a very short series of steam locomotives (steam locomotives), which were produced only in 1931 at the Hipolit Cegielski in Poznań (abbreviated: HCP). The length of a single locomotive (with the tender) was 24.6 meters, and the service weight - 181.3 tons. The diameter of the driving wheels was 1,850 mm, and the locomotive had 2'D1 'axles. In total, only 3 locomotives of this type were built.
The Pu29 steam locomotives were designed to service heavy fast trains from the then network of PKP connections, and in particular were dedicated to German transit trains on the Chojnice-Tczew-Malbork line. Pu29 locomotives were the largest locomotives produced in Poland before 1939. They also had good performance, especially the maximum speed of up to 110 km / h. At the same time, however, they were too big and too heavy, which caused huge problems in operation and maneuvering on sidings. For this reason, serial production was discontinued after the production of only 3 copies, in favor of the much more universal Pt31 steam locomotive. After World War II, PKP had only one steam locomotive of this type.
