Ty45 is a series of Polish steam locomotives (steam locomotives), which were produced in the period 1946-1951. Production took place in the plants of Hipolit Cegielski in Poznań (in short: HCP) and Fablok in Chrzanów. The service weight of a single locomotive without tender was 97.5 tons, and its length with tender was 22.38 m. The locomotive had a 1'E axis system. In total, around 430 locomotives of this type were built. The Ty45 steam locomotive was designed on the basis of the pre-war Ty37 steam locomotive. It was - visually and technically - very similar to her, but differed in a few things. First of all, it had a different driver's cabin and used a larger tender with a semi-barrel shape. Initially, Ty45 was used to transport large freight rolling stock, especially on the Silesia - Baltic line. Overall it was a pretty successful build, but showed some power drops in some cases. The Ty51 steam locomotive was developed as its successor.
