"Śmiały" (PP No. 2) is the name of a Polish armored train from the interwar period and the early period of World War II. The train was armed with wz.02 / 26 guns, wz. 14/19 A, but also Renault FT-17 tanks and TK-3 tankettes.
The "Śmiały" train was formed for the first time at the end of 1918. It consisted of two armored locomotives, 2-3 artillery wagons, an assault wagon and control platforms. Originally, the train was formed for the Austro-Hungarian army, but due to the approaching end of World War I, it was not used in combat. After it was taken over by the Polish side, it was transformed into two trains. Both (named "Śmiały" and "Piłsudczyk") were used in the Polish-Ukrainian conflict over Eastern Galicia and in the battles for Lviv. Later, from 1928, "Śmiały" was part of the 2nd Armored Train Squadron. His full mobilization took place at the end of August 1939. During the September campaign, the train performed fantastically in the Battle of Mokra, later it broke through to Brest, and from there to Lviv, where it fought to defend the city. The train was abandoned by the crew at the end of September 1939 and taken over by the Soviet army. He remained in Soviet service until July 1941. Later it was occupied by the German army and served until June 1944, when it was removed from the state.
