Jelcz 004 is a Polish CGBA fire truck, which was presented for the first time in 1973. Its production was carried out in the years 1974-1991 in Zakłady Samochodowe Jelcz. Vehicle J elcz 004 was developed on the basis of the Jelcz 315MS truck. From its predecessor, it took over the chassis, many elements of the suspension and braking system, but it had a different engine equipped with a 243 HP turbocharger and a different gearbox. In addition, due to the firefighting tasks performed, it received specialized firefighting equipment consisting of a 6,000-liter water container, a 600-liter foam concentrate tank, large boxes and compartments for firefighting equipment, and two water and foam cannons. Cars of this type were exported to the GDR in trace amounts. Interestingly, Jelcz 004 is still used by Polish units of the Volunteer Fire Department.
