Heller 80605 Sinagot

Sinagot is a type of small, fishing, sailing boat, especially characteristic of the French town of Senne, which lies near the town of Vannes on the Morbihan Bay. Boats of this type were used on a fairly large scale off the coast of Brittany. A single Sinagot boat is characterized by having two masts and two sails. It is worth adding that the sails were very often colored ocher. With time, the color of the sail began to indicate the region or port of the boat. Almost always, the color of the boat's hull was largely black, with the exception of the bulwark, which was always a color other than black. The Sinagot type boats were typical fishing boats in the northwest of France in the early 20th century and in the interwar period. It is worth adding that at present the only original and preserved boat of this type is the "Les Trois Freres", which was built in 1943 and was declared a historical monument in 1985.
