Metal Earth MMS250 Star Wars R2-D2

R2-D2 (name pronounced Artoo-Detoo or shortened to R2, which is Artoo) is a repair droid from the Star Wars universe. He first appeared in the 1977 movie "Star Wars: The New Hopw" (Episode IV). In the same film, British actor Kenny Baker played his role. In the universe of a star saga R2-D2 measures approx. 1.1 meters and its weight does not exceed 35 kilograms. It was produced by Industrial Automation as one of the many R2 series repair droids. Droids of this type were designed to perform a variety of tasks, but the most important of them was undoubtedly the most important repair work on space fighters - while still in flight or in combat. The R2-D2 droid was originally dedicated to the ship of Queen Amidalia - ruler of the planet Naboo (the movie "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace"[Episode I] ), with which he came to the planet Tatooine. He became Anakin Skywalker's personal droid relatively quickly. In subsequent parts of the saga, he took part in, among others: finding Obi-Wan Kenobi and destroying the Death Star.
