Witte de With is a Dutch rocket frigate, the keel of which was laid in 1981, launched in 1984, and commissioned for service at Koninklijke Marine two years later. The vessel is 130.5 meters long, 14.6 meters wide and with a draft of 4.3 meters. The ship's armament consists of two Harpoon 4-track anti-ship missiles, a single Mk. 13 Mod 4 with a supply of 40 GDC Pomona AA missiles, one 8-rail Sea Sparrow AA missile launcher and a 30 mm Signaal Goalkepper artillery set.
Witte de With belongs to the type of Jacob van Heemskerck, with two units, which in turn is a modified Kortenaer class. Units of the Jacob van Heemskerck type, compared to their predecessor, have significantly reinforced anti-aircraft weapons, achieved at the expense of anti-submarine warfare. For example, Witte de With does not have an on-board ZOP helicopter, which is standard in Kortenaer class frigates. Nevertheless, Witte de With was a very successful frigate with good performance, high autonomy and combat capabilities. Witte de With was sold to the Chilean Navy.
