88 pieces: 4 cannons, 4 caisson and crew for each.

At the start of World War I, in August 1914, the army of imperial Germany was considered the best and most efficient in the Old Continent. Such a conviction resulted mainly from the fame of the victories won in the course of the wars with Austria in 1866 and with France in the years 1870-1871. Also, many organizational solutions used at that time in the Prussian army, and later in the German army (e.g. strategic railway lines or mobilization techniques) were copied in other European countries. As in the French and Russian armies, artillery was one of the most important components of the German army in 1914. The German army attached a large role to the development of artillery before the outbreak of World War I, which led to the fact that it had a certain advantage in this matter over the French army and a significant advantage over the Russian army. For example, in the summer of 1914, the German corps was supported by a heavy artillery squadron of 16 150 mm howitzers, and each infantry division had an artillery brigade of 72 guns. The main armament of the German field artillery in 1914 was a cannon 7.7 cm Feldkanone 96 nA, but it also had: 10.5 cm Feldhaubitze 98/09 howitzer 105 mm cal. Or 15 cm schwere Feldhaubitze 13 cal. 150 mm. In addition, the German artillery also carried powerful 240 and 280 mm howitzers. Along with gaining experience in World War I, German artillery began to increase significantly in number, but also changed its tactics. It has already used it on a very large scale indirect or counter-battery fire. The methods of artillery observation were also improved and new types of weapons were introduced - e.g. 10.5 cm leichte Feldhaubitze 16 or 10 cm Kanone 17.
