The Yamaha XJR400 is a Japanese motorcycle from the so-called naked bikes, which was first presented to the public in 1990. Its serial production started at the same time and continued until 2007. Much of it has been concentrated in the city of Iwata in Japan. The XJR400 model has been designed and implemented for production in order to complement the commercial offer of Yamaha Motor Corporation and expand its share in the so-called naked bikes. The Yamaha XJR400 was powered by a 53hp air-cooled 4-cylinder in-line engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. When designing the motorcycle, efforts were made to keep its weight as low as possible, which was only partially successful - the motorcycle in the "dry" condition weighs 177 kilograms. Brembo drum brakes were also used, which were further improved in 1996.
