L-11 is a 76.2 mm tank gun from the interwar period and the Second World War of Soviet production. The first prototypes of the gun were made in 1938, and its serial production started in 1939. The gun barrel was 30.5 calibers, or 232.4 centimeters long. The average maximum speed of a shell fired from this gun was up to 610-620 m / s, and the rate of fire - with a well-trained crew - ranged from 6 to 7 rounds per minute. The presented cannon was developed at the Fabryka im. Kirov in Leningrad. It is possible that the L-11 gun used some of the technical solutions already used in the M1914 / 15 anti-aircraft gun of the same caliber. The gun had a hydropneumatic retractor, and was in fact a semi-automatic gun. It is worth adding that the L-11 gun became the main armament of the T-34 model 1940 and the KW-1 model 1939 tanks. Although it had good ballistic properties, it did not clearly outperform its counterparts in the Western armies. Finally, it was replaced by the F-32 and F-34 guns of the same caliber.
