AQM-37 Jayhawk (other designation: Beech KD2B ) is an American supersonic training drone from the Cold War and modern times. Its first prototypes appeared in the early 1960s, and the drone entered production shortly after. In total, more than 5,000 of its copies were created. In the AQM-37 C version, it measured 4.27 m with a wingspan of 100 centimeters. The maximum range was approximately 180 kilometers.
The AQM-37 Jayhawk drone was developed for the needs of the US Navy and USAF. It is capable of simulating an attack with ICBM ( Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) and was and - to a very limited extent - is still used for training purposes. The drone is characterized by the ability to reach very high altitudes, in the order of 30,000 meters, and is able to reach high speeds of 4Ma. AQM-37 Jayhawk was exported to, among others, Israel, Italy and Great Britain. It is worth noting that it was most often controlled by the F-4 Phantom II and English Electric Canberra aircraft adapted to these tasks.
