LF Models LF7233 Aeronautica Lombarda A.R.

Aeronautica Lombarda AR was an Italian prototype "bomb-plane" from the Second World War. A prototype flight took place in 1943, but the machine never entered mass production. The drive was provided by a single engine Fiat A.80 RC.41 with 1000 hp . The machine was 14 meters long with a wingspan of 17 meters. It did not have on-board weapons, but could carry a bomb load, or rather an explosive charge weighing up to 2,000 kilograms. Lombarda AR was designed as a bomb plane, intended for attacks on enemy surface ships. It was assumed that the plane would be controlled by a pilot who would save himself by parachuting in the last phase of the attack, and in the last phase of the Lombard attack, the AR would be controlled by radio. From the very beginning, it was assumed that the aircraft would be as cheap and simple to produce as possible, using as much as possible wooden and plywood elements. It was also aimed at making it as easy to pilot as possible. The machine never entered mass production, despite the fact that the prototype unit met or even exceeded the requirements set for it.
