The D-37 draisine is a prototype, self-propelled draisine built in the USSR in 1932. This rail vehicle was powered by a single 40 HP internal combustion engine, and its armor varied from 6 to 12 mm. The main armament consisted of a single 76.2 mm gun and two 7.62 mm DT machineguns. The draisine could also fire at air targets with the Maxim machine gun. The D-37 draisine was designed primarily for reconnaissance and patrol purposes. The emphasis was primarily on the greatest possible independence in action and high maximum speed. Of course, the vehicle could move both forwards and backwards. Despite the successful tests of the D-37 draisine carried out in the early 1930s, it did not enter mass production, but served as a kind of base for the development of a more advanced self-propelled railroad draisine DT-45.
