The Avia HS 12Ydrs is a Czechoslovak aircraft engine from the interwar period, which was a license version of the French Hispano-Suiza 12Ydrs engine. The latter was first launched in 1934 and was able to generate a maximum power of 860 hp at 2,400 rpm. The weight of the "dry" power unit of this type was 470 kilograms. It was a liquid-cooled engine with 12 cylinders in the V system. It is worth adding that for the Avia HS 12Ydrs engine, the value from 830 to 849 HP is given as maximum power. The Avia HS 12Ydrs engine was installed primarily on Avia B.534 fighter aircraft, which allowed the machines to reach a maximum speed of 405 km / h, a cruising speed of 345 km / h and a climb speed of 15.15 m / s. Incidentally, it can be mentioned that it was a very successful aircraft engine with good performance, reliable and also amenable to modernization.
