Ordnance QF 2-pounder cannon is a British light, towed 40mm anti-tank (anti-tank) gun from the interwar period and World War II. The first copies entered service with the British Army in 1936. Vickers Limited was primarily responsible for its development and production. When it entered service, it was one of the best guns in its class. It was used in combat, especially during the fighting in France in 1940 and during the campaign in North Africa (1940-1943). Its successor was the 6-pounder 57mm cannon. The Ordnance QF 2-pounder cannon fired several types of projectiles. First of all, it was capable of firing an AP (armor piercing) (AP) missile, i.e. a full-caliber anti-tank missile. Such a missile could penetrate an armor plate with a slope of 60 degrees, 37 mm thick over a distance of approx. 500 meters, 27 mm thick at a distance of approx. 1000 meters and 17 mm at a distance of approx. 1400 meters. The cannon could also fire APCBC (APCBC, Armor Piercing, Capped, with Ballistic Cap) missiles, i.e. an anti-tank missile. core with cap and ballistic cap. In this case, the penetration parameters were clearly better: at a distance of approx. 500 m, the projectile could cover 65 mm of armor steel, at a distance of approx. 1000 m - 57 mm, and at a distance of approx. 1500 meters - 49 mm of steel.
