The Cessna 500 Citation I is a twin-engine, commercial and passenger jet aircraft in the American low-wing configuration. The drive is provided by two turbofan engines Pratt and Whitney Canada JT15D4B . The flight of the prototype took place in 1969, and the serial production of the Cessna Citation I series continued in 1969-1985. In total, 689 aircraft of this family were built.

The Cessna 500 Citation I is part of the successful Citation I family of aircraft that were manufactured by the Cessna Aircraft Company based in Wichita. The design of this aircraft was largely based on another aircraft in the family, the Cessna 500 Citation. Compared to its predecessor, it differs in a larger wingspan, higher permissible take-off weight and a shorter take-off and landing distance. Production of this version started in 1976 and continued until 1985. Aircraft from the Cessna Citation I family have been or are operated by civilian and military operators in countries such as Argentina, Ecuador, the United States and Norway.
