Reign of the Qin Dynasty (also known as: Ch'in Ch'ao ) in China is dated from 221 BC to 206 BC. It is therefore a dynasty that reigned for a very short time, but which was very important in the history of China, because its founder Shi Huang-di (there are also numerous other spellings of this name-title) ended the Warring States Period in the history of China and led to the unification of this country and the introduction of a very strong central authority. It is worth adding that the later Han dynasty, which ruled in the years from approx. 220 BC to approx. 220 AD, also benefited from many administrative, legal and military solutions of the Qin dynasty. The troops of the Qin dynasty were undoubtedly at a high level of technical development, using all the gains and novelties that emerged during the Warring States and the Spring and Autumn Period. First of all, swords were used on a large scale, which in the 3rd century BC began to be produced on a larger scale from iron, not bronze. The crossbow was widely used, which probably successfully replaced the composite bow in the armament of the Qin dynasty infantry. It is worth adding that at the end of the 4th century BC, the predecessors of Emperor Shi Huang-di began to use cavalry that cooperated with units of war chariots. It is also certain that much of the Qin dynasty's infantry used lamellar armor. It is worth adding that the so-called The Terracotta Army guarding the death of the first emperor of China - Shi Huang-di.
