The Douglas DB 8A is an American low-wing single-engine single-engine attack aircraft from the early World War II period. The DB-8A is an export version of the Northrop A-17 aircraft. It was exported in several versions to various countries: the DB8A-1 went to Sweden, the DB8A-2 to Argentina, the A3N to the Netherlands (the Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp engine was the drive), the A4 to Iraq, and the A5N to Norway. It is worth noting that the delivery to Norway did not manage to get there before the German invasion, and thus, after many adventures, the planes were confiscated by the USAAF and, under the designation Douglas A-33, acted as training, "towing" machines for moving targets and others not related to the fight. Technical data (for the A-17 aircraft): Maximum speed: 332 km / h, rate of climb: 6.9 m / s, maximum ceiling 5915 m, maximum range: 1046 km, armament: fixed - 5 7 cal.
