Revell 02524 German Commando Special Forces (KSK)

KSK Kommando Spezialkräfte is a German military special unit that is part of the Bundeswehr, and more specifically the Rapid Reaction Division (German Division Schnelle Kräfte). The unit was established in 1996, and since 1997 it has been considered active. KSK was modeled on the British SAS and soldiers of both these formations often undergo joint training to this day. Initially, recruitment to the KSK was conducted only among officers and non-commissioned officers of the active service of the Bundeswehr, but now civilians can also participate in the selection. It is worth adding that the selection process is very long, and the training of a single soldier lasts from 2 to even 3 years, depending on the specialization! The commandos belonging to this formation perform many tasks, including: they perform reconnaissance in the enemy's distant rear, stop terrorist attacks, destroy important objects of the enemy's infrastructure, and also rescue hostages. KSK members are armed with rifles and pistols such as: HK G36, HK MP5, P8, MG3 or the G22 sniper rifle. KSK soldiers conducted operations in the Balkans, as well as in Afghanistan and Iraq.
