The Mamiya was a Japanese supply ship from the interwar period and World War II. The keel was laid under this unit in 1922, the launch took place in October 1923, and the entry into service - in July 1924. The total length of the ship was 144.8 meters and a width of 18.6 meters. Standard displacement was up to 15,800 tons, and the maximum speed was around 19-20 knots. The on-board armament of the unit at the time of launching consisted of two 140 mm guns and two 76.2 mm anti-aircraft guns. The Mamiya was built in a Kawasaki-owned shipyard and was originally intended to be a general-purpose transport ship. However, during the service, she was primarily responsible for transporting food and was adapted to this role shortly after entering the service. She was able to transport 18,000 people for three weeks, along with an adequate number of field kitchens. The unit took part in the war in the Pacific, but due to its nature, it did not participate in combat operations. Mamiya was sunk on December 21, 1944 by the American submarine USS Sealion.
