The Kawasaki C-1 is a modern Japanese high-wing transport plane. The prototype flight took place in 1970. Serial production was carried out in the years 1973-1981. About 30 aircraft of this type were built in its course. The drive is provided by two turbofan engines Pratt and Whitney JT8D-M-9 . The length of the aircraft is 29 meters with a wingspan of 30.6 meters. The maximum speed is up to 806 km / h, and the maximum range - up to 3,353 kilometers. The machine has no permanent on-board armament. The Kawasaki C-1 aircraft was developed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries for the needs of the Japanese Air Self-Defense Forces, which aimed to replace the obsolete C-46 Commando aircraft in the line. Design work began in the mid-1960s and the machine entered the line in 1974. Finally, an all-metal plane with a triple landing gear was created. Interestingly, the range of the machine - for political reasons - was limited, which resulted in relatively small production. At present, Kawasaki C-1 planes are being replaced in line by C-2 machines. Japan is the only user of Kawasaki C-1 machines.
