La Sirene is a French sailing warship, sometimes classified as a Category III battleship, from the end of the 17th century. Most likely, the unit was launched in 1691, and its designer may have been Pierre Masson. The total length of the ship was about 65 meters, and the height from the keel to the highest point of the main mast - about 63 meters. The armament probably consisted of 26 36-pounder cannons, 24 18-pounder cannons, 16 8-pounder cannons and 6 4-pounder cannons. The La Sirena was undoubtedly not only a well-designed vessel of considerable combat value, but also very impressive, with rich bow and stern decorations. It also had large, by the standards of the time, cabins intended for officers and the captain of the unit. La Sirene took part in the so-called the 9-year war, also known as the war with the League of Augsburg (1688-1697) in the course of which it probably participated in the Battle of Barfleur (1692). She also fought in the course of the war for the Spanish succession (1701-1713 / 1714).
