The Mack Super-Liner is a family of American-made tractor units, the first models of which went into production in the USA in 1977, and in Australia three years later. It is worth adding that while production in the United States ended by 1993, it is continued in Australia. The power unit was a 6- or 8-cylinder Mack EA7 or EA9 engine with a power of 235 HP to 405 HP. In the case of vehicles manufactured in Australia, the gearbox was supplied by Fuller, Allison or Spicer. The curb weight of the vehicle was from 7 to 9 tons. Design work on the presented family of tractor units started in the 1970s at the Brockway Motor Company, which at that time belonged to Mack Trucks. After these plants were closed in 1977, work continued directly at the Mack plants. They were based on the previous generation of the brand's models (Mack R Series), and the changes mainly concerned the extension of the hood and changes to the chassis and steering system. In Australia, the presented line of trucks was built on the basis of the Mack R Series chassis. They are now manufactured in this country on the Mack Titan platform and are most often offered with the 685hp MP10 engine. It is worth noting that to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the Australian state, Mack Australia Trucks has released a limited series of 16 Super-Liner Bicentennial II vehicles.
