Mikojan-Guriewicz MIG-9 is a Soviet, twin-engine jet fighter in a medium wing configuration, with trapezoidal wings and a three-wheeled undercarriage. The flight of the prototype took place on April 24, 1946, and serial production continued in the years 1946-1948. It was the first mass-produced jet in the USSR. In total, about 1,000 machines were manufactured. The prototype, designated I-300, used Kolesow RD-20 engines, which were a copy of the German BMW 003A. However, in 1947 it was changed to the Kolesow RD-21 unit. Interestingly, they were placed in the fuselage, and not in under-wing gondolas as on the previous airplanes. The first serial version was the MIG-9F with the RD-20 engine, then the MIG-9FR with the RD-21 engine and the ejected pilot's seat appeared. The MiG-9UTI training machine also entered service. In addition, several versions of the MIG-9 were created, but were produced on a much smaller scale. The aircraft was quickly withdrawn from service in favor of the MIG-15 machine. In the years 1950-1951 they were handed over to China, where they flew for a few more years. Technical data: length: 9.75m, wingspan: 10m, height: 3.2m, maximum speed: 915km / h, rate of climb: 22m / s, maximum range: 800km, maximum ceiling 13500m, armament: permanent - 1 Nudelman cannon 37mm N-37 cannons and two 23mm Nudelman-Suranov NS-23 cannons.
