The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Szczecin D±bie (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) dates back to the 14th century and is the oldest church in the city of D±bie, which has been part of Szczecin since 1948. Initially, the temple was called St. James. Originally, it was a small wooden building, but at the end of the Middle Ages it was rebuilt in the Gothic style with the use of stone and bricks as a building material. In the 17th century, the church tower was equipped with a very high cupola. Giant changes in the building took place in 1863, when a fire caused the lion's share of the building to burn. The German architect Karol Brecht was responsible for its reconstruction, who decided to rebuild it, but in the neo-Gothic spirit - based on the preserved elements of the church. During World War II, the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was damaged to some extent, but was reconstructed relatively quickly. It is worth adding that it is one of the tallest churches in Poland, and its tower is 75.6 meters high.
