FLY 72031 Nord 1000,1001,1002 Pingouin

The Nord Pingouin was a communication and service aircraft of French production from the Second World War. The prototype flight took place in 1944. About 290 aircraft of this type were built under production. The machine - in the Nord 1002 version - was 8.28 meters long with a wingspan of 10.61 meters. The drive was provided by a single Renault 6Q-10 engine with 240 HP. The machine did not have a permanent on-board armament. In 1942, the production of the German Messerschmitt Me-108 machine was relocated to the SNCAN plants in occupied France. Even before the liberation in 1944, the Nord plants had developed an almost perfect copy of this machine, designated the Nord 1000, which was powered by Argus engines. As the stocks of these engines ran out, the Nord 1001 and 1002 versions were developed, powered by Renault engines: 6Q-10 and 6Q-11. Machines of this type were used after 1944 by the French air force. On the basis of the Nord Pingouin aircraft, its development - the Nord Noralpha - was developed over time.
