SV Preussen was a German sailing ship (windjammer) from the 20th century. The keel for the ship was laid in 1901, the launch took place in May 1902, and commissioning took place in the summer of the same year. The total length of the ship was 147 meters by 16.4 meters wide. The displacement of the sailing ship is about 11,200 tons. The unit had no on-board armament.

SV Preussen was, and still is, counted among the so-called windjamers, or "windbreakers" - huge and largest sailing vessels ever built, which used all the most modern technologies of the early twentieth century. On a large scale, steel was used to build such vessels - both for the construction of structural elements and for the plating, and a much smaller crew was required to operate the rigging than on the sailing ships of the nineteenth century. The windjambers were also able to reach speeds of 18-20 knots. Some people refer to these impressive ships as "the swan song of the Age of Sailing Ship". The SV Preussen at the time of launch - and for many decades thereafter - was the only fully flown five-masted ship in the world which was fully sailed. The ship had a very high seaworthiness and could sail even in severe storms. He was also very chic, and his speed was up to 20 knots under favorable conditions. Unfortunately, this unique vessel sank on November 6, 1910 as a result of a collision with the British steamer Brighton.
