The PTS is a modern Soviet, and later Russian, floating tracked transporter. The vehicle has been in production since the 1960s. The basic version of the vehicle is powered by a single 350 HP W-54-T engine. The vehicle usually does not have any fixed armament. The PTS was developed as the successor to the K-61, with the aim of improving the seaworthiness of the new vehicle, increasing the weight of the load to be carried and better road performance. In order to shorten the research and development time and reduce production costs, many components from the T-54 tank and the ATS-59 artillery tractor were used. During the series production of this successful vehicle, several modernizations were made, including: developed in 1988, with improved propeller drive and higher payload). The PTS vehicle can carry a load of up to 10 tons or 72 landing troops with full equipment.
